NANEMIAR's female researchers celebrate the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, 11 February

Despite some progress in recent decades, with varying success depending on disciplines and countries, gender equality in science remains challenging. Today, only one in three scientists worldwide is a woman. Lack of gender equality in science does not just affect women, it also limits scientific progress and hamstrings a country’s development and its efforts to build peaceful societies. To raise awareness throughout society about the value of women in Science, thus closing the gender gap that still exists in this field, female researchers from NANEMIAR are joining in celebrating the 10th anniversary of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science.

With their personal perspectives on what science means to each of them, they want to break gender stereotypes, inspire girls, as well as promote inclusion, diversity and equity.
