On October 30th, a special event was held at Avilés Hospital to promote blood donation and raise awareness about its vital importance for thousands of patients. 
During the event, our European project NANEMIAR was presented and delivered — an initiative aimed at giving visibility and support to people who depend on blood transfusions to survive. We had the opportunity to speak with Nicolás Díaz Varela, Head of the Hematology and Hemotherapy Department at the hospital, as well as with María Concepción Saavedra Rielo, the Health Councillor of the Principality of Asturias, who appears in the photograph accompanying this publication. On behalf of ALHETA, Secundino, Vice President of the association, presented the NANEMIAR project, highlighting the importance of European collaboration and awareness around blood donation.
This event was an excellent opportunity to give a voice to those who rely on transfusions to live and to reinforce our commitment to health, research, and solidarity.
