NANEMIAR brings science and its research project closer to society through Pint of Science

Science is once again leaving the laboratory to connect with the public in a different setting: bars. The international festival Pint of Science Spain brings together researchers and citizens for three days of science outreach events where research is explained in a close, accessible, and engaging way.

The initiative was born in 2012 at Imperial College London and is now held simultaneously in numerous countries and more than 100 Spanish cities. Its objective is simple: to allow anyone to speak directly with the people carrying out scientific research.

The festival covers a wide range of topics including neuroscience, health, technology, astronomy, biology, and artificial intelligence, organized into six major thematic areas.

At NANEMIAR, we were delighted to take part in this event, supporting initiatives that promote science communication and sharing our research project thanks to the participation of Dr. Ana Belén Pérez Oliva.

Bringing biomedical research projects closer to society helps generate awareness, trust, and understanding about diseases such as congenital anemias.

Under the motto “bringing science to where people are,” Pint of Science shows that knowledge can also be shared around a table and through informal conversation.

We would like to thank the organizers of Pint of Science Lorca for giving us the opportunity to participate in this incredible event.
