NANEMIAR participates in UniStem Day 2026 in Murcia

NANEMIAR participated in UniStem Day 2026, held at the Hospital Clínico Universitario Virgen de la Arrixaca in Murcia on March 20. This international event is dedicated to scientific outreach on stem cell research and brings together high school students with researchers and professionals from the
biomedical field.

The day began with an institutional welcome, including greetings from academic authorities and the Murcian Health Service, as well as an introduction by the event coordinator and member of Nanemiar, Miguel Blanquer Blanquer.

Throughout the morning, a comprehensive program of presentations was delivered, covering various aspects of stem cell research, with experts such as Jesús Isaías Gil Chinchilla, Miguel Blanquer Blanquer, Salvador Martínez Pérez, Ana Belén Pérez Oliva, and Rut Valdor Alonso. They addressed topics including cell therapy, neuroscience, and the clinical applications of stem cells. During the event, Ana Belén Pérez Oliva, project coordinator, shared the advances of Nanemiar, bringing students closer to applied research in congenital anemias.

The event is part of an international initiative coordinated by the UniStem Center at the University of Milan, which this year brings together dozens of universities and research centers worldwide, consolidating its reputation as a reference in scientific outreach.

The day concluded with a connection between Spanish universities and a closing session, reinforcing the collaborative and international character of the event.

At NANEMIAR, we emphasize the importance of initiatives like UniStem Day, which foster young people’s interest in science and help bring research closer to society.
